I use a lot of this stabilizer in free standing embroidery designs. It is quite heavy so it gives my structures the necessary stability for them to stand on their own. I I use it in conjunction with the vilene (fibrous) not the clear kind and they work very well together. I get it from World Weidner as well. They have the best prices on all stabilizers that I have purchased from them. They also get it shipped right away so I have no down time when making my creations. Recommend this product and company very highly.
