I am a nerd who likes crafting. I decided to upgrade from a Singer Futura to this SE9180 because of WIFI capability. After all, who likes cords when you are working with scissors, fabric, pins, needles, patterns, threads, etc. Well, here is where the issue comes up. My password was not recognized!!! The same PW that I use for my tablets, printers, Alexa devices, speakers, garage door, thermostat...It was frustrating, then... to Google potential solutions. Looked for information in the Singer website, the manual, YouTube. The WIFI connection specification are not listed. Period. The WIFI will only work on 2.4 GH and not 5 GHZ. Little omission from Singer. They suggested me to call my internet provider to ask them to enable or activate the 2.4 GHZ. Sure!It is unbelievable that a machine that was released not even a year ago has very limited connection capabilities. They should think about upgrading their LAN cards, it is penny to the dollar.I am trying to resolve my issue by getting either a WIFI extender or a WIFI USB adapter. You can get them in Amazon quite inexpensive. However, for the cost of the machine, this is like a slap in the face. Also, the hoops are very expensive. They are basically plastic with no electronic features at all, I am sorry, but I do not justify the price of the hoops at all. The 6"x8" is $99.00 USD, with no generic alternative.I wanted to be loyal to the brand, specially as it has some of the high end features of the Husqvarna Viking, and Pfaff, all brands owned by the same company.Great machine, for sure, if you do not need to be connected wirelessly.
