The heavier your fabric, the lighter stabilizer you will need.  MonoSol-Vee (a.k.a. Aquafilm) is offered in light weight  (U-Type), medium weight (X-Type).  These can be used as toppings and layered as backings.  Our heaviest embroidery stabilizer is Badgemaster®, which can be used as a backing or exclusively in freestanding lace or ornamental craft projects.

Q. Why should I use a stabilizer?
A. Stabilizers keep the fabric from moving during stitching and add fiber density for all the stitches in the design to hold.  The additional fiber density allows more intricate designs to be achieved and significantly improves the quality.

Q. How should I remove MonoSol-Vee® from my project? 
A. Hold the excess MonoSol-Vee® firmly and tear it away from the garment.  Pick the remaining film from the design.  Small pieces can be sprayed with a small amount of water and blotted out of the garment with a damp cloth. 

Q. Which embroidery film product is best for 3D crafts and projects?
A. Badgemaster® is a heavyweight, water-soluble backing that can be embroidered directly into the film without requiring fabric.  Badgemaster® can be used to make intricate lace, ornamental projects, and 3D crafts.

Q. How should I store MonoSol-Vee® and Badgemaster®?

A. Store in the original packaging or a clearly marked re-sealable bag.  This prevents humidity absorption resulting in a “tacky” feel of the product.  It also prevents the film from drying out and becoming brittle, depending upon the environment.
